This policy has been written in line with the General Data Protection (GDPR) requirements. I, Kate Carruthers, am the Data Controller of Kate Carruthers Counselling and Trauma Therapy and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration reference ZA6588940).
Your Data
Upon initial contact I hold your contact details for a period of up to one month while communication takes place about the possibility of counselling.
Once counselling starts I am legally required to hold this information for a longer period of time, HMRC regulations state a minimum of seven years. At this point I will give you a copy of my full privacy notice, which will also outline other information I will hold, for what purpose and how it is stored.
I do not send marketing communication and will not use your contact details for anything other than communication about counselling.
Your rights
You have the right to see any information that I hold about you. Unless prevented so by legal reasons, I will provide this information to you within a clear time frame.
You also have the right to ask me to change any incorrect information or delete any information that I hold about you. I will do this except for any information I need to hold for legal purposes such as business tax purposes.
